Degas to Picasso: Creating Modernism in France
10 Feb-7 May. The Ashmolean presents over 100 works by artists such as Matisse, Manet, Chagall, Renoir, Degas, Léger and Picasso, charting the rise of modernism.
With Paris as its centre, modernism developed during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, ranging from Romantic artists such as Ingres and Delacroix to Cubists such as Picasso and Braque.
The 100 works on display come from a private collection and have never been seen before in the UK.
