2 June - 28 October. The Bodleian Library celebrates the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Dickens with an exhibition that recalls the world in which he lived.
Prompted by quotations from his writings, the library uses contemporary materials to transport visitors back to the era of the great novelist.
In addition to reproducing theatrical settings inspired by the original productions, the Bodleian remembers a Victorian London and the arrival of the railways, and displays a selection of Dickens's writings in their original form.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of lunchtime lectures and gallery talks.
Mon-Fri 09.00-17.00, Sat 09.00-16.30, Sun 11.00-17.00.
