5-26 Feb 2009. Humble Remains is the title of Michael Wann's current exhibition of drawings which is taking place in the Royal Hibernian Academy's Ashford Gallery. Wann won the Axa Drawing Prize in the 176th RHA Annual Exhibition 2006 and has been selected to exhibit several times in the prestigious annual show over the last few years.
All drawings for Humble Remains were completed in the north-west of Ireland while the larger-scale compositions were drawn last summer when Wann was artist-in-residence at the Cill Riallaig Project in Kerry and the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Mayo. His drawings "juxtapose arbitary or transient images of cleared landscape with more thought provoking depictions of the derelicition of habitation."
Opening night: Thursday 5 Feb 2009 17.30 - 19.00
