31 Oct 2005 (Every year). In its 26th year, the Dublin City Marathon follows a winding route through the city taking in many of its historic Georgian neighbourhoods from Kildare St, heading up to the North Circular and down to the South Circular before returning back to the centre to finish in Merion Square. Registration for this year's marathon, sponsored by Adidas, has already reached 10,000 for the second year in a row to the delight of the race organisers. The race has become a staple on the autumn racing calendar, in the words of race director, Jim Aughney, on the right course to be one day considered as one of the great marathons in the world, like London and New York. Particpation costs 50-70. Start 09.00.
