1 April-26 Nov 2006. Two talented actors bring James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Brendan Behan, Oscar Wilde and other Irish literary greats to life in the convivial atmosphere of some of Dublins famed literary pubs. Sponsored by Jamesons Irish Whiskey, the tour meanders through the cobbled streets of the city centre rather in the style of Joyces hero, Leopold Bloom, visiting five-eight pubs and including a stop at Trinity College to talk about Oscar Wilde. Around half a mile of walking is involved. The pub crawl starts at the Duke and ends at Davy Byrnes pub nearby. The tour transports visitors away from the aridity of tourist clichs to the richness of the language of Joyce, OCasey, Yeats and Behan according to the London Times. Admission 12, students 10. Tickets on sale at the Duke Pub from 19.00. Tour starts at 19.30 Mon-Sun and at 12.00 Sun.
