25 Oct 2007-11 Nov 2008. This exhibition illustrates the first moments of the European artistic movement called neoclassicism, which started in France and later spread to other European countries. Neoclassicism was the reaction against both Baroque and Rococo styles and expressed the desire to return to an ideal purity of arts of ancient Greece and Romeand the Renaissance Classicism. On show are 130 pieces, which demonstrate the beauty of decorative art between 1750 and 1775.
