11 June 2010 - 8 May 2011. Forgeries have plagued bankers ever since the first banks began circulating money. For centuries authorities have done battle with the forgers; indeed it would appear that, as long as cash and coins exist, the battle is set to continue.

A by-product of this constant war, however, is the fact that forgers have consistently forced the makers of money into inventing ever more elaborate designs that are difficult to emulate. This exhibition highlights the intricacies of coin forgery, from Antiquity to the present day, and compares the forgeries with the authentic coins from each period.
