15 Nov 2006-31 March 2007. Punchdrunk Productions in collaboration with the National Theatre presents the legend of Faust in a specially adapted venue in East London. Fusing live performance, music and large-scale installations to provide an unconventional theatrical experience, Punchdrunk creates a black magic mystery tour through a sleazy blues bar of the Deep South, where a preacher raises hell and Faust raises the Devil. Audience members are masked for anonymity and are free to follow the indoor promenade performance as they like. The venue is a huge disused warehouse in the original Tobacco Dock and patrons are advised to dress warmly and wear sensible shoes.
