From 22 -25 September 2005. Celebrating the legend of Mare de Du de la Merc, the patron saint of Barcelona renowned for her love of animals, this festival ushers in the autumn each year. Held in the warm open air, thanks to Barcelonas mediterranean climate, the festival brings together groups of musicians both national and international. Performances will be held around the city, including the new Plaza del Frum, avenida de la Catedral, Rambla del Raval, el Moll de la Fusta and Plaza Catalunya. Promising 3,000 performers from traditional and contemporary music performances, fireworks, human pyramids, fire-breathing dragons, and story-telling, this is one of the most hotly anticipated events on the calendar.
