23 Feb-9 April 2006. The Maison des Cultures du Monde (MCM) is hosting the tenth edition of the Festival of the Imagination celebrating cultural diversity. Participating international artists include Iranian musician Hamid Kherzri playing the dotr traditional lute (30 March), Nezih Uzel and the Kudsi Erguner Ensemble from Turkey (1 April) and the Vietnamese Water Puppets from Hanoi (2-8 April). Traditional dancers from Vanuatu perform Danses et traces sur sable (23-25 March) and Tales from A Thousand and One Nights are recounted by Egyptian actress and story-teller Chirine Al Ansari. (26-29 March). Music from the Abbasid epoch is played by Nidaa Abou Mrad and the Ensemble de lUniversit Antonine from Lebanon (3 April). The festival closes with Songs and Dances of the Pwpwp warriors of New Caledonia (7-9 April). Performances are at MCM, the Auditorium du Louvre and the Thtre questre Zingaro in Aubervilliers. Admission 30-10, concessions for unwaged, under 26s and season ticket holders.
