27 June-23 July 2006. Barcelonas first Festival de Cajn offers a line-up of top flamenco artists including Estrella Morente, Potito, Diego Amador and the legendary Paco de Lucia. The Sala Bikini hosts singer Antonio Vargas, known as Potito, presenting his new record Barrio Alto with Salvador Guitierrez on guitar and El Torombo & Javier Heredia on percussion box (cajn) (5 July at 21.30). Diego Amador gives a solo piano concert entitled Piano Jondo at the Luz de Gaz club (12 July at 22.00) followed by popular flamenco singer Estrella Morante in concert at the Palau de la Musica with her new recording Mujeres a tribute to women like Nina Simone, Roco Jurado, Chavela Vargas, La Nia de los Peines and Carmen Linares (19 July at 21.30). The festival closes with flamenco guitar maestro Paco de Lucia performing with Alain Prez, Nio Josele, Piraa, Antonio Serrano, Montse Corts, Duquende and La Tana at the Gran Teatro Liceu (23 July at 21.00).
