11-19 Aug 2006. The Pfefferberg club, in Berlins bohemian Prenzlauer Berg district, hosts the 11th edition of the

German capitals Flamenco Festival, opening with Yasaray Rodriguez and his group performing De la Habanna a Sevilla (11 Aug at 19.30). Evening performances and daytime workshop sessions are held al fresco in the delightful surrounds of the clubs summer beer garden. Highlights of the programme include Suite Flamenco with Fuensanta La Moneta & Company (12 Aug, 20.30), Noche del Canto with Jos Parrondo (16 Aug, 19.30) and Jos Carillos Triana suena (18 Aug, 19.30). Flamenco Dance Theatre with the Juan Carlos Lrida Company Guerrero (17 Aug, 20.30) is to be performed at the Akademie der Knste at 10 Hanseatenweg 10557 Berlin-Tiergarten. The festival closes with 2 performances by the Compaia Miguel Vargas and special guest Esperanza Fernndez (19 Aug, 19.30 & 21.00). Admission 25-12. No performances Mon.
