24 March - 22 August. Created in 1982 to pay homage to photojournalism, the Photography Contest of the Spanish Press is now in its 19th year.

This year its themes include the issues of war, gender violence and marginalisation, and the featured winning photographers and photojournalists have won grants to complete their projects in various locations across the world.

The gritty, tough images on show make for provocative and often harrowing viewing; nevertheless they offer viewers the chance to be moved and to share their empathy with those who are far less fortunate.
