François I and Dutch Art

18 Oct-15 Jan. François I patronised numerous northern European artists active in France during his reign from 1515 until his death in 1547.

This exhibition at the Louvre comprises paintings, drawings and painted panels by some of the best-known northern artists, with a particular focus on the work of Jean Clouet and Corneille de La Haye known as Corneille de Lyon.

The show is designed to highlight new aspects of the French Renaissance, including its extravagance and monumental nature.
