16 January - 18 April 2010. As an artist and as a woman, Frida Kahlo never bowed to convention. She was a driving force behind the symbolist and surrealist movements, and soon became famous not only in her native Mexico, but worldwide. Her passionate, fiery artwork was mirrored by an equally tough life, in which she suffered much physical and personal trauma, much of it linked to her marriage to revolutionary Diego Rivera. BOZAR presents an exhibition of the artist's work which includes 19 paintings, an etching, 6 drawings and a number of photographs.
Tues-Sun: 10.00-18.00 Thurs: 10.00-21.00
