From Caravaggio to Bernini, masterpieces of the Italian 17th century

7 June-16 Oct. The Royal Palace of Madrid presents an exhibition of Italian 17th-century art comprising some 70 paintings, from the national collection, on loan from palaces, convents and embassies.

Many of the works, which are shown together for the first time in Spain, were recently restored especially for the exhibition.

On display are paintings by Bernini, Carracci, Gentileschi and Guercino, while a highlight of the exhibition is Salome with the Head of John the Baptist, painted circa 1609, by Caravaggio.
