6 June - 24 September. The Centre Pompidou presents an exhibition of works by painter Gerhard Richter, one of the world's most important living artists, on the occasion of his 80th year. The 160 pieces come from public and private collections and provide a comprehensive display of sequential works from the 1960s to the present day. Since the early 1960s Richter has tested the limits of painting as a medium, never maintaining the same style, never afraid to confront controversial subject matter. Over his life he has produced abstract and photo-realistic paintings as well as photographs and glass works. Spanning almost five decades, the Paris exhibition follows his recent retrospective at the Tate Modern in London.
11.00-21.00. Tues closed.
