Until 9 May 2010. Austrian artist Hubert Scheibl, a leading light in the 'New Painting' movement, has over 40 works spanning three decades on display in the Essl Museum. The exhibition comprises 8 monumental canvases, which evoke stormy seas and ice-scapes, as well as 50 works on paper and several sculptures. Scheibl, who for over two decades painted with a predominantly monochrome palette, has since seen his work blossom into a more joyous appreciation of colour and poetry.
