Impressionism: Sensation & Inspiration

16 June - 13 January 2013. The Hermitage Amsterdam presents an exhibition featuring a large selection of well-known Impressionist paintings, drawings and sculpture from the collection of the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg.

Among the artists included in the show are Monet, Pissarro, Renoir and Sisley as well as later painters such as Delacroix and Gérôme.

With the help of the masterpieces on show, the exhibition examines the contrasts between Impressionism and other artistic movements.

Organisers say it is one of the most extensive displays of Impressionism to come to the Netherlands.
