Vienna once again stages one of the most important festivals for international avant-garde dance, bringing together the works of celebrated choreographers and bright newcomers on stage. ImPuls Tanz Festival opens this year with a performance of the Paris National Opera, choreographed by Jrme Bel, while Canadas Daniel Lveill presents The Modesty of Icebergs in which dancers perform naked. Skin is the only true costume according to Lveill. Famous Belgian choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker will present a show of far east and modern African-western sounds. The festival is accompanied by dance and bodywork workshops for both beginners and experts. The finest venues are hosting the very diverse shows, amongst them the Burgtheater/Arsenal, Akademietheater and Schauspielhaus.
