3-23 July 2006. Alvin Aileys acclaimed American Dance Theatre company is featured in this years summer festival of international contemporary and classical dance in the historic garden and courtyard of the National Archives. Nine short dance works and excerpts from longer ballets by choreographers Alvin Ailey, Hans van Manen and David Parsons are on offer for the opening night gala, with proceeds going to CARE. Autour du Jazz follows from 4-8 July with ballets including Pas de Duke and The Winter in Lisbon by Ailey and Billy Wilson. The Company Highlights by seven in-house choreographers are performed from 10-15 July. Other events include a Tribute to Alvin Ailey (17-22 July), three afternoons of performances and talks by the Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, hip hop displays, dance films at Le Racine Odon, 6 rue de l'Ecole de Mdecine, Paris 6e, and a photography exhibition in the courtyard of the Hotel de Soubise National Archives.
