8-12 March 2006. Celebrating its fortieth year in 2006, the ITB Berlin is one of the tourist industrys leading events, attracting around 84,000 trade visitors and 58,000 members of the public. Held at Messe Berlin, the Berlin Exhibition grounds, the ITB combines trade fair, travel fair for the public and a major trade convention on market trends and innovations. The tourism sections include Forum Wellness, focussing on the growing trends in health-oriented holidays, Cruises, Cultural tourism, Travel technology and a section devoted to Trends and events, which covers youth travel, experience/adventure tourism, eco-tourism and travel for the disabled. The World Book stand is dedicated to travel literature in all its forms, from guides and maps, to books on individual experiences. There is also a section for holiday and second homes at the Immovest stand.
