29 Nov-6 March. The Stedelijk presents the first comprehensive retrospective dedicated to the work of influential German artist Isa Genzken.
The exhibition features all aspects of Genzken's career, from her early films, drawings and concrete sculptures to her later radical collage and assemblage works, all of which represent an unorthodox vision of the world.
The show highlights themes important to the Berlin-based artist, such as modernity, the human body, the portrait, urban culture and architecture.
Genzken's primary media are sculpture and installation, and she uses a wide range of materials including concrete, plaster, wood and textiles, as well as working with photography, video, film and collage.
