Kazimir Malevich and the Russian Avant-Garde

The Stedelijk Museum presents a major exhibition dedicated to the work of the Russian avant-garde pioneer Kazimir Malevich (1879–1935).

The exhibition, which is billed as the largest Malevich show in 20 years, comprises the artist's oil paintings, gouaches, drawings and sculptures and includes all the phases in Malevich's career, from his Impressionist period to his Suprematist phase to his subsequent figurative works.

The exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, which holds the largest collection of Malevich’s work outside of Russia, acts as the culmination of the 2013 year of Dutch–Russian relations in the Netherlands.
