24 April - 1 June 2009. La Force de l'Art 02, produced by the Etablissement Public du Grand Palais, is the second phase of a major trienial exhibition focusing on French contemporary art. This important event honours France's impressive creative scene and spans 'all generations, genres and nationalities'. The exhibition commissioners chose architect Philippe Rahm to come up with a design that suitably utilised the chasmic nave of the Grand Palais. He responded by constructing towers, caves, courtyards and town squares, all of which form the stage from where unexpected artistic exchanges occur between a myriad of performers and artistes.
