This large, immersive installation by Brazilian artist Laura Lima allows the visitor to roam free and explore a universe of thousands of accumulated objects and materials.
The installation includes an eclectic, even chaotic, mix of bric-a-brac such as books, textiles and musical instruments scattered around what appears to be a cross between a workshop and a flea market.
Among this teeming Aladdin's cave, however, lurks the biggest surprise, if visitors are lucky enough to find him: The Naked Magician. Wearing a suit with the arms cut off, this man of magic adds an element of unpredictability to the installation, constantly making changes and creating new objects.
Since the 1990s, Lima has been constructing challenging situations by placing humans, animals and plants in unexpected relations with objects and spaces, questioning accepted art genres such as performance or installation.
