Lawrence Weiner: Within a Realm of Distance
10 Oct-20 Dec. Exhibition by Lawrence Weiner, the American artist and one of the founding figures of Conceptual Art, an offshoot of Postminimalism, in the 1960s.
Weiner is best known for incorporating words and letters into his art. The exhibition features works created by the artist over the last several decades, in addition to site-specific works made especially for Blenheim Palace, the UNESCO World Heritate site and historic family home of the Duke of Marlborough.
As of recently the palace is also home to the non-profit Blenheim Art Foundation which offers a programme of contemporary art by prominent international artists. It was launched in 2014 with the largest ever UK exhibition of works by leading Chinese artist and political activist Ai Weiwei.
