Dublins legendary pubs combine with Irelands legendary writers to provide over two hours of pleasurable entertainment,as two talented actors bring literary greats such as James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Brendan Behan and Oscar Wilde to life in the convivial atmosphere of some of Dublins famed literary pubs. Sponsored by Jamesons Irish Whiskey, the tour meanders through the cobbled streets of central Dublin rather in the style of Joyces hero, Leopold Bloom, visiting five to eight pubs and including a stop at Trinity College to talk about Oscar Wilde. Around a kilometre of walking is involved. The pub crawl starts at the Duke and ends close by at Davy Byrnes pub. The London Times describes it as transporting visitors away from the aridity of tourist clichs to the richness of the language of Joyce, OCasey, Yeats and Behan. Admission 11 students 9.
