24 July-5 Oct 2008.This exhibition explores how artists represented the most powerful of emotions: love. On show are works from the 15th century to the present day and the artists range from Raphael, Cranach, Vermeer and Holman Hunt to Marc Chagall, Tracey Emin and Marc Quinn. The works on show depict the complexity of love in a great variety of styles, portraying divine and mortal, chaste and unchaste love, family love and charity.
