Madrid Realists

9 Feb-22 May. The Thyssen-Bornemisza shows 90 works by a group of 20th-century realist painters and sculptors who lived and worked in Madrid, including Amalia Avia, Richard Estes (see Telephone Booths painting above), Antonio López, Francisco López, Julio López, María Moreno, Esperanza Parada, and Isabel Quintanilla.

The exhibited paintings, sculptures and drawings are on loan from international institutions and private collections, mainly in Spain and Germany.

Divided into different sections, the show highlights the artists' common ground, both in terms of subject matter and style, as well as their academic backgrounds and shared personal relationships.

Tues-Sun 10.00-19.00.
