11 July-9 Nov 2008. Sixteen paintings have been selected from the rich collection of Amsterdam's Stedelijk Museum to provide an overview of the works of Kazimir Malevich (1879-1935), considered a pioneer of geometrical-abstract art. Early in his career Malevitch was influenced by impressionism and postimpressionism. Some of his paintings show an affinity with the style of Van Gogh, as demonstrated by the figures of farmers.
