17 June-22 Oct. The Louisiana presents the first major retrospective in Europe dedicated to the work of pioneering body and performance artist Marina Abramović who is known for her physically and mentally demanding performances.
One of the world's most radical and uncompromising contemporary artists, Abramović has used her body and energy as her primary material since the 1970s.
Her performances revolve around themes such as the body, gender, energy, time, pain, presence and identity, and in recent years involve increasing audience participation.
Spanning more than five decades, the exhibition comprises over 100 works such as concept sketches, paintings, sound works and films of her performances.
