7 February - 23 September. The Belgian Comic Strip Centre pays homage to the late comic strip writer, illustrator and author Marten Toonder with an exhibition, part of a year-long international celebration of the centenary of his birth.

Known as the "Dutch Walt Disney", Toonder is revered by generations of comic artists and his Panda and Tom Puss series was published in daily newspapers in many countries.

Initially written for children, the stories become popular with adults who recognised the cartoons' acerbic wit and related to the range of serious issues touched upon by the characters.

There are numerous exhibitions taking place in Toonder's native Netherlands and his bust can be found in the Dutch Museum of Literature in The Hague.
