11 Apr 2008-29 Mar 2009. The Essl Museum displays the masterpieces of the Essl collection of contemporary art at the Schőmer-Haus. On show are key works illustrating the focal themes of Austrian art from the post war period, as well as European and American contemporary paintings and pieces of the Aboriginal Australian art. Among the international artists are the Spanish master Tapies, the Americans Sam Francis and Alex Katz, the French Pierre Soulages, while among the Austrian representatives are Hermann Nitsch, Gűnther Brus, Arnulf Rainer, Siegfried Anzinger, Martha Jungwirth, Erwin Bohatsch, Herbert Brandl and the young Elke Krystufek.
