Mike Kelley

15 Dec-1 April. The Stedelijk Museum presents a major retrospective of the work of American artist Mike Kelley (1954–2012) whose wide-ranging practice encompassed painting, sculpture, works on paper, installation, performance, music, video, photography, collaborative works and critical texts.

This is the largest exhibition of his works ever staged and comprises over 200 works, spanning the artist’s 35-year career from the mid-1970s until shortly before his death in early 2012. The show fills virtually all of the 1,800-sqm temporary exhibition space in the new building of the recently-expanded Stedelijk Museum.

After the Kelley exhibition comes to an end in Amsterdam in April it will travel to the Centre Pompidou in Paris; MoMA PS1 in New York; and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.
