22-30 Sept 2006. The Barcelona Auditori hosts a short season of concerts dedicated to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on the 250th anniversary of his birth. Performed by the Barcelona and Catalonia Symphony Orchestra (OBC) directed by Christian Zacharias, the season offers three concerts: Mozart I, II & III. Mozart I features music by Stravinsky, Apollon Musagte (Apollo) and two compositions by Mozart: his concert for piano and orchestra no. 23 in A major, KV 488, and his "Jupiter" Symphony no. 41 in C major, KV 551 (22, 23 & 24 Sept). Pianist Josep M. Colom performs with the OBC for the Mozart II concert, with Mozarts symphony no. 39 in E Flat major, KV 543, and Schnebels composition for a small orchestra, Mozart-Moment (Re-Visionen II 3) (27 Sept). The final concert, Mozart III, features Magdalena Martinez on flute performing Stravinskys concert and dances for a chamber orchestra and his Pulcinella Suite, as well as Mozarts concert for flute and orchestra no. 1 in G major, KV313. (30 Sept). Admission 45-16. Concerts on 22 & 27 Sept at 21.00, 23 & 30 Sept at 19.00, 24 Sept at 11.00.
