Musical journeying at Cit de la Musique.

11-21 Oct 2006. The Cit de la Musique presents a season of musical voyages from Schuberts Voyage dhiver (1827) to Etymo composed by Luca Francesconi (1994). The programme opens with Sur la route des Ziganes featuring French, Serbo-Croat and Bosnian gypsy ensemble Taxi Luna, accompanied by a storyteller, which follows the story of Shaban and the music of the gypsy people (Amphitheatre, 11 Oct 15.00, 12 Oct 10.00 & 14.30). Contralto Nathalie Stutzmann and Inger Sdergren on piano are next up, performing Franz Schuberts "Winterreise" (Salle des concerts 13 Oct 20.00). A round table forum with music experts Jean-Pierre Bartoli, Emmanuel Reibel and Brigitte Franois-Sappey precedes Harold et son double with music by Berlioz, Amaral, Feldman and Jarrell (Amphitheatre 14 Oct 15.00), while the Orchestre du Conservatoire de Paris conducted by Juraj Valcuha perform Listzs Du berceau jusqu' la tombe (Salle des concerts 15 Oct 14.30). La Chambre Philharmonique-Emmanuel Krivine playing early music instruments perform music by Mendelssohn and Spohr (Salle des concerts 17 Oct 20.00) and the Ensemble Intercontemporain directed by Susanna Mlkki play music by Schnberg, Gyrgy Kurtag and Luca Francesconi (Salle des concerts 19 Oct 20.00).
