9-15 May 2006. The Palais Garnier hosts six performances by the famed contemporary Dance Theatre of the Netherlands, featuring choreography by Jiri Kylian, Paul Lightfoot and Sol Len. Established in 1959, the Netherlands Dance Theatre has three different ensembles Nederlands Dans Theater I, II and III, each with its own character, repertoire and dancers. Three new danceworks are to be performed at the Palais Garnier. Kylian has created two of the new pieces: Sleepless with the NDT II, performed to music by Dirk Haubrich, and Birthday with NDT III, music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The third dancework, Postscript, is performed by NDT II to music by Phillip Glass. Admission 63-6. Performances 9, 10, 12, 13 and 15 May at 19.30, 14 May at 14.30.
