Old Traditions New Visions: Art in India and Pakistan after 1947

15 Sept-18 March. The Ashmolean Museum examines how artists in India and Pakistan sought to express the distinctive characters of their newly-independent nations, post 1947.

This exhibition highlights the artists' new modes of expression, embracing aspects of modern European art movements as well as retaining their own traditions.
