9 May-23 July 2006. An exhibition by Scottish independent photographer Norman McBeath at the Ashmolean Museum examines the shadowy and mysterious world of Oxford at night. A graduate in psychology, Norman McBeath taught English in Egypt, the Sudan and Saudi Arabia before turning to photography. Specializing in social documentary photography and portraits, his work has been shown throughout Britain. Here he uses artificial and constant night-time light to bring out a different side of Oxford. Admission free. Tues-Sat 10.00-17.00, Sun 12.00-17.00, bank holidays 10.00-17.00.
