30 Oct 2008-11 Jan 2009. MUMOK presents a large comprehensive exhibition by the Austrian artist Peter Kogler displaying over 100 works from 1979-2008, focusing on the relationship between his early and latest works. Since the beginning of the 1980s Kogler has been inspired by media and computers and their relationship to the human bodies and animals. Simple basic modules such as an ant, a brain, a rat or a pipe, which the artist reproduces serially, characterized his works and anticipated the computerized technology. His art work has transformed galleries and museums as well as railway stations and public spaces into virtual labyrinths, hiding infinite and dynamic spatial perspectives.
