13 Feb-13 May 2007. 70 years after the aerial bombing of Barcelona in Feb 1937, this exhibition organized by the city council brings together archive photographs depicting the air raids and some of the 1,400 bomb shelters built in the Catalonian capital during the Civil War. Barcelona was the first major European city to suffer indiscriminate bombing of the civilian population, something which has since become a feature of modern warfare. The exhibition, entitled
