18 February - 29 May. The Van Gogh Museum traces Picasso's early career by documenting his arrival in Paris in 1900 at the age of 19. His interaction with the leading lights of the Paris art world at that time such as Gaugain, Toulouse-Lautrec, Steinlen and Van Gogh had a profound effect on the young artist.

This exhibition presents some of his earliest works and examines the link between his time living in the then European capital of the avant-garde and his subsequent paintings. Curated by Marilyn McCully, when the exhibition finishes in Amsterdam it travels to the Museu Picasso in Barcelona, where it opens on 1 July.

Daily 10.00-18.00 Fri 10.00-22.00.
