26 June-23 Sept 2007. The Jeu de Paume hosts a comprehensive exhibition of the works of gay French artistic duo Pierre Commoy and Gilles Blanchard, known as Pierre et Gilles. Famous for their highly stylised photo-paintings featuring images from pop culture, the gay world (including porn) and religion, Pierre et Gilles began working together after meeting in Paris in 1976. The works produced by the photographer Commoy and set designer and painter Blanchard take the form of arranged portraits, repainted and reassembled from the original photo to create a one-off piece of art. Among the famous personalities immortalized by their art are the singer Khaled, model Naomi Campbell, actress Catherine Deneuve and designer Jean-Paul Gautier. For this exhibition, 120 pieces have been selected to represent the couple
