Post-war Barcelona 1939-1945: A photographic report
The exhibition at the Photographic Archive of Barcelona displays 116 images of life in Barcelona following the country's devastating three-year civil war.
Most of the photographs were taken by Pérez de Rozas and depict diverse aspects of the new reality imposed on Barcelona following its occupation by Franco’s troops on 26 January 1939.
The photographic archive was founded in 1931 and contains over two million images dating from 1839 to the present day, with the majority of the photographs pertaining to Barcelona.
Mon-Sat 10.00-19.00. Sun closed.
