25 June - 13 September 2009. The Young Belgian Painter's Award exhibition is the equivalent of Britain's Turner Prize. Born out of a desire to promote young Belgian art, it began when an association of artists and sculptors congregated in the late 1940s and established the competition in 1950. Since then it has become one of the premier visual art events in the country. In collaboration with the Palais des Beaux-Arts, the Prix de la Jeune Peinture Belge has invited the following short-listed artists to compete for the prestigious 2009 award: Nico Dockx, Jeroen Hollander, Robert Kot, Lara Mennes, Caroline Pekle, Els Vermang and Leon Vranken.

Tue-Sun: 10.00-18.00 Thurs: 10.00-21.00
