Punk: Its traces in contemporary art

The Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (CA2M) explores the origins of the anti-establishment punk movement, and the subculture it generated, in contemporary art.

The exhibition comprises installations, documentaries, photographs, videos and paintings featuring punk's main themes such as noise, refusal, violence, destruction, alienation, anarchy, nihilism and sexuality.

On display are works by more than 50 Spanish and international artists including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Tracey Emin, Nan Goldin, Guerrilla Girls, Antonio Ortega, Pepo Salazar and Santiago Sierra.
