Ramon Casas and the shadow puppets at Els Quatre Gats

30 June-19 Feb. Unusual exhibition of shadow puppets made by Spanish artist Ramon Casas (1866-1932) and his circle of modernist friends based at the Els Quatre Gats café in Barcelona.

On display are 11 puppets, designed by Casas based on Parisian cabaret marionettes, and constructed by his Els Quatre Gats friends.

The exhibition also includes posters, drawings, invitations and programmes relating to shadow puppets which were popular in bohemian Barcelona at the turn of the 20th century.
