Renaissance Venice: The Triumph of Beauty and the Destruction of Painting

20 June-24 Sept. This exhibition is dedicated to the central themes that underpinned 16th-century Venetian painting.

Comprising portraits alongside mythological and religious works, the display focuses on the importance of colour and observation of real life as well as the "destruction" of the brushstroke in later works of this period.

The exhibition features masterpieces by Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese and Lotto, on loan from important international collections and museums.
