16 June - 24 Sept 2009. The Museo d'Historia de Catalunya presents a quirky but serious exhibition of cartoon cut-outs used during the Spanish Civil War. An effective yet subtle form of propaganda, the artform featured prominently in the campaigns of both sides. The cut-out figures, seemingly harmless, were used to influence children from an early age when they simulated battle scenes against the 'enemy'.
